DISPUTE RESOLUTION

This process for resolving disputes applies equally in circumstances where students are in conflict with each other, when they may be in conflict with TELFILM staff or TELFILM itself, or if staff are in conflict with each other or TELFILM management.
TELFILM is founded upon mutual respect and trust, and has a mentoring system designed to forsee and resolve conflicts before they occur. In the event that this is not successful, we encourage people to solve their own differences. Formal methods are the next step.
The following protocol is followed, and stops whenever it succeeds.

  1. Speak to the people involved, whilst being alert to the dangers of the conflict growing
  2. Taking a written account of the conflict to the Office Manager or Session Coordinator and also describing the conflict verbally. Submissions will then be requested from everyone involved, including any witnesses. An investigation will begin within 48 hours, bringing all involved parties to a meeting.
  3. Take any documents to the Director of TELFILM , who will call another meeting
  4. All parties can appoint an outside mediator inside 96 hours. TELFILM will bear the cost of mediation. If a mediator is not available or unacceptable to either side of the dispute, an arbitrator may be chosen.
STUDENT FOOTAGE

TELFILM places an emphasis on working in collaboration whilst on the programs. As such,

  1. Any footage taken during a TELFILM course is the property of TELFILM
  2. Raw footage masters must remain in the school
  3. The final production has non-exclusive distribution rights shared between students and TELFILM
